The Tiliment Marathon Bike race is organised by A.S.D. Polisportiva Trivium of Spilimbergo. It’s a Mountain-Bike race that allows people to know and appreciate these places that overlook the Tagliamento wide natural riverbed from the environmental, natural and cultural point of view.
In this wonderful natural open-air theatre, we wish to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly sporting tourism in order to attract people, families and groups to take part to the sporting, entertaining and cultural outdoor activities without the need for special infrastructure or expensive sports facilities.
This event has been organised with the collaboration and the contribution of: the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, the Provincial Administration of Pordenone, the Municipalities of Spilimbergo, Sequals, Travesio, Castelnovo del Friuli, Pinzano al Tagliamento, Clauzetto and Vito d’Asio, together with the contribution of local entrepreneurs and associations. Each of the above wants to spotlight the beauty of the Pordenone piedmont area for the benefit of all the partakers and of their friends, relatives and supporters.
A.S.D. Trivium will keep organising this event in the future, in order to reach these goals and to act as a leading force for the sports activities development, motivating the local associations other activities linked to this event.

Races for young and children, to the sport center "La Favorita"

Mountain Bike Race valid for Alpen International MTB Tour and Alpe Adria Cup circuits
For the under 14 guys, another race will take place within the Trophy “Junior Bike”, on the 17th April: a course of MTB races of regional level.
The “Alpen International MTB Tour” is a recent international course, which includes 6 races in Italy,
Austria and Switzerland.
(The renowned Salzkammergut Trophy in Salzburg is among them).
This competitive course is sponsored by the sport events agency Bike & More in Bolzano together with the local organizers and national recognized main-sponsors. Not only is the competition important in this race, but its environmental compatibility is also fostered.
Even in the regulations of the race, the promoters want to emphasize the respect for the environment and nature. That is why unethical and improper behaviours (such as leaving and throwing wastes on the way, leaving the protected areas of the route…) will be punished.
Regulation will not allow the spectators to enter the areas under special environmental protection with any motor vehicles. They will be allowed to enter on foot or by bicycle only. The sponsors supporting this course have been selected among all the firms which make environmentally compatible products or promote products and processes that save and respect the environmental resources (water, soil, air etc.). Promoters will also study the ecological balance of this event from all points of view (race, fair, movements, meals etc.) evaluating the environmental impact and the solutions applied to lower it.
These environmentally compatible are linked to the race even if it is connected to some other competitive sporting courses which do not consider special interventions for the cutting down of the environmental impact. The rules regulating the proper behaviour towards the environment will have to be respected by all competitors, regardless of their racing course.
“Friuli Mountain Bike Challenge” and “Alpe-Adria Cup” courses include already well-known international and national MTB races.
In these two courses can take part Italian and foreign athletes holding membership cards of their respective cycle League.

The competitors will be awarded cash prizes and goods offered by the sponsors, according to the placing taken both in their own division and in the main race.
The athletes will also score points for their participation and/or their placing, according to the rules studied by the organizers of the courses they compete in.
There are scores of teams and hundreds of MTB fans taking part in the famous regional trophy called “Friûl Bike”. The course includes lots of local races, but it is not competitive. It is an open race, even if it not short of competition! Final prizes will be awarded to the participants, according to their personal, division and team placing.
The 9th “Junior bike” trophy is a course of MTB races for boys and girls aged 7 to 14, organized by the National Cycling Federation – F.V.G. Regional Committee.
2010’s calendar schedules different events in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region for young athletes with or without the sporting league membership card.
Boys and girls who do not hold a membership card will have the chance to develop a deep interest for MTB and to get in contact with sport by testing their skills on courses suitable for their age.

The 2010 Edition of the “Tiliment Marathon Bike” is supposed to draw the same attendance of last year (700 athletes). Promoters plan to draw a larger audience and to rise the general interest in the race.
A lot of participants will come with their families, team managers, technicians and supporters. The race, which lasts two days, will draw in this area thousands of people as tourists and competitors.
Promoters expect to increase the presence of foreign competitors coming from Austria, Slovenia, Germany, the Netherlands etc. This kind of
sporting-and-touristic events is very popular among MTB fans from transalpine countries. They usually take part en masse in international courses where sport and tourism are closely linked.
Hundreds of people will be involved in the realization of the event: a lot of local associations, judges, health staff, police and volunteers who will offer technical support. (The number of volunteers is estimated in more than 280 people).
Promoters want to realise a two-day theme fair dedicated to the bicycle. They also want it to coincide with these sporting events. The Fair will be set in Spilimbergo, in the neighbourhoods of the starting/finishing points of the races.
Trademarks and firms linked to the world of cycling and MTB as well as the associations and the firms of the Municipalities crossed by the courses, will be involved in realizing food-and-wine stands selling local products and dishes and promoting the territory as a touristic area.
In this way promoters want to endorse the territory they live in, showing up its hospitality and its distinctive environmental and cultural characteristics to the guests coming for the race.
